Where on earth does time go? It barely seems like yesterday that I was trying to get here and with lots of good intentions to post on a regular basis! I guess when the time is right and life quietens down a bit, it will eventually happen, but until then, posts will continue to be sporadic!
Winter is looming and that means silly season ......... flu season ........ you know when it starts, because you get on the transport to work and hear one person sneeze ...... and then another ....... and then someone starts coughing and before you know it, everyone at work seems to be coming down with something or other. Well this is what started happening a few weeks ago to me!
I thought I'd managed to avoid catching the many bugs that suddenly seemed to surround me, though I don't think that ducking when I heard the person behind me on the train sneeze actually worked. Because last week I started to feel rough. But I figured I'd push through it, sweat it out and even went to the gym for the first two days so as to make sure that happened.
But if it did anything it just brought it out quicker. I ended up leaving work slightly early on the third day with the intention that a hot bath, lots of fluids and an early night would mean I'd be right as rain the next day. Then I drew this card!
Oh yeah, what a joy to look forward to. Normally I'd look at this card, think I just need to pull myself together a bit, lift my head up and step through those swords. However, when you feel like you have no balance left, when you suddenly get those hot and cold sweats and feel like life is just totally beating down on you, well it's damn hard to lift your head, let alone muster any energy to walk anywhere!
And so it was. No walking anywhere. Instead, I pulled my dressing gown closer, put the heating on and got back under the duvet to try and warm up. A pity party for one that, at the time, seemed never ending!
